Radio Samurai was a project I recorded around 2015. I was looking to record some songs that I had written, which I found kind of quirky, but fun. My intent was to keep this as a folk-music-type project and keep the instrumentation and arrangements simple and uncomplicated, but I think you can hear where I got in my own way in that respect. The Radio Samurai name was chosen because, while I wrote the material, I felt artistically lonely and disconnected from any kind of music scene and I liked the 'lone songwriting warrior' feeling it conveyed. '673' refers to the average million number of breaths taken in a human life (if one dies at 80). There's a reference to Beacon, NY in 'Incline Railway'. The logo is an FM radio waveform that morphs into the Japanese character for Samurai. Music, lyrics, and all performances: Larry Sansone.

A CD with the song recorded on it, and download link printed on it, was left on top of Mt. Beacon during the 100th anniversary celebration as part of a project that a Beacon artist, Alan Goldsmith, was doing at the time- not sure if anyone ever found it. Maybe birds carried it off... that would be nice.
