Songs from College
Well.... Everybody has to start somewhere. Here are some early demos of songs that I used to play in coffeehouses in college. I literally found these on cassette tapes in a box in my attic and transferred them off an old SONY Walkman, which I guess is fitting given the age of the material. As a result of the ancient tapes and dodgy transfer, the quality is a bit lacking, but I thought I would post the songs here for any old college friends who might remember hearing me play these back in the day. Most of this material was written and recorded when I was between the ages of about 19 and 20. Interestingly, there is a first version of 'Dear Sweet Loraine' before I re-wrote it for the band, Yucca Flats. The Yucca Flats version sounds like a response to the naivety of the first version, so you can hear some growth there. I find it a little weird listening back to these early recordings- kind of like reading an old journal out loud. If you've stumbled across this, you should probably listen to it now, before I change my mind and take it down :)
